Norfolk Tides on a roll!!!

Baseball fans on Virginia’s coast, have you seen how hot the Tides are lately? The Tides have won 6 in a row, 9 of their last 10, and have pulled to within 7 games of first place Durham for the division crown and a guaranteed spot in the International League playoffs. Norfolk’s run has been helped by the hot hitting of catcher Steve Clevenger, who is batting .412 in his last 10 games, sandwiched around a brief stint in Baltimore. Also helping out lately is CF Julio Borbon, who has hit safely in 9 straight and is batting .308 in that stretch. On the pitching side of things, 2011 draft choice and Richmond-area native Tyler Wilson has stepped in as a reliable starter, going 2-0 in 5 starts with the Tides, posting a 2.53 ERA in that stretch.

All in all, it should be an exciting home stretch as the Tides try to get their first playoff birth since 2005.
