When the Indians called up LH reliever Kyle Crockett (Poquoson) from Double-A last week, he made his debut against Oakland and allowed 2 hits, including a homerun, and a walk in just 1 1/3 innings of work in a blowout loss. Since then, he has settled down big time.
He has thrown 3 innings in 2 games since, allowed 2 walks, no hits, and most importantly, no runs. His ERA, a bloated 6.75 after that debut we can probably chalk up to nerves, has plummeted down to 2.08. Last night, he pitched the 9th and 10th innings and kept Detroit off the board, giving Cleveland the chance to win the game in 13.
