All-time greatest from VA

In this study, I will be counting down the Top 10 all-time greatest ballplayers to come out of this state. We start with #10.

1B George McQuinn (Arlington)

McQuinn played in the bigs from 1936-1948, and in that time batted .276 with 135 HR and 794 RBIs. He was a 7-time all star and won a World Series with the 1947 Yankees. He was in the Top 10 in the league in hits 3X, HR 2X, total bases 2X, and BA once. He retired from baseball after the 1948 season, and in 1978 was inducted into the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame.

George McQuinn died on Christmas eve, 1978.
